What is Alegria Trips?

Alegria Trips is a young Salvadoran travel startup run by three friends from Surf City. We take small groups on all-inclusive day trips to waterfalls, regenerative farms, cacao and coffee farms, Lake Coatepeque, Suchitoto and the Montecristo cloud forest. Every trip includes hotel pickup, transport and lunch.

Our story

Who is behind Alegria Trips?

We are Rousse, Kaleb and Melissa, three friends from El Salvador. Rousse is a doctor, Kaleb is a civil engineer and Melissa studied tourism. What brings us together is surfing. It became our way of life, and the ocean taught us to flow with life's challenges the same way we ride waves.

We love El Salvador: the food, the landscapes and the people. That is why we started Alegria Trips, to share our country in an authentic way, with trips that tell stories and take you to places where nature is cared for and respected.

We believe in a more conscious planet. On every tour you will find activities that are good for your body, your soul and the Earth.

Frequently asked questions

How much do the tours cost?

Day trips cost between $120 and $230 per person. The price includes hotel pickup in Surf City, transport, lunch or brunch, cold water and every activity listed on the trip page. The 2-day El Limo and Montecristo trip includes lodging and meals.

Where do you pick us up?

At your hotel in Surf City, on the coast of La Libertad: El Tunco, El Zonte and the beaches nearby. Staying somewhere else? Write us on WhatsApp and we will tell you if we can pick you up.

Which days do the tours run?

Any day, on request, with a minimum of 2 guests per trip. Tell us your dates on WhatsApp and we confirm.

Can I join if I am traveling alone?

Yes, write us anyway. Our trips run from 2 guests, so we will tell you which dates already have a small group you can join.

Is food included?

Yes. Every trip includes lunch or brunch and cold water all day, so you do not need to spend extra. Tell us about vegetarian, vegan or allergy needs when you book.

How physically demanding are the trips?

Each trip shows an effort level: easy, moderate or active. The Tamanique waterfalls hike, the surf and yoga morning and the 2-day El Limo and Montecristo trip are the most active. If you have any mobility needs, ask us before you book.

Is it safe?

Your safety comes first. We travel in our own van with small groups, we know every place we visit, and we always carry a first-aid kit.

What are the best trips and experiences in El Salvador from El Tunco?

From Surf City (El Tunco and El Zonte) you can reach most of El Salvador in a day. Our favorites: the Tamanique waterfalls, a regenerative farm in Comasagua, Cerro Verde and Lake Coatepeque, organic cacao and coffee farms, surf and yoga in Mizata, rum and the colonial town of Suchitoto, and a 2-day trip to El Limo and the Montecristo cloud forest. All with hotel pickup and lunch included.

Can you take us to a destination that is not on the list?

Yes. If you would like a tour to any other destination in El Salvador, message us on WhatsApp and we will send you a quote.

Do you offer airport transfers?

Yes. We also offer transport between the airport and Surf City. Ask us on WhatsApp.

How do I book and pay?

Use the booking form or write us on WhatsApp with the trip, your dates and how many people are coming. We reply in English or Spanish, confirm availability and send you the payment details.
